Nearly have the base coat on the epic Sons of Horus. Just need to texture the jet bike bases and paint all bases and I’ll be in the home stretch.

Finally put some paint on a test model for the Sons of Horus army. I think I’m happy with the color and the process, reasonably fast. Now just some details and finish this guy up. I think going forward I will glue heads and should pads on before priming but I’ll continue to leave the guns off.
These Forge World models have more pins than any other models I have ever done. I pined everything: arms, torso, guns bases; they are almost like action figures you and pose them all kinds of ways. Now that this guys is glued and painted I realize it was a bit over kill really.

The added weight the copper wire gives to the model is nice though.

Some samples of the Proteus-like tank used by the Legions of bio-generated super humans. Beautiful models and looking forward to exploring HH in Epic more.

I’m going to have to pin it.

I cut the aquilas off since I’m planning to use this one in my Sons of Horus army. But I have another one for the Red Scorpions which I’ll get together for JMS in the near future.

This is the craziness of my Sons of Horus army and my excuse for why it’s been going so slow.

In a moment of OCD I decided to pin every marine piece by piece so that I could get the most dynamic poses and make painting as easy as possible.

The previous images I’ve share of this WIP army the models appear to be put together - well in fact they are actually just pinned and one a single model has yet be glued. The benefit of this is it will allow me to paint all of the Secret Weapon Miniature bases in one group. then the Marines properly posed in another, and finally the boltgun (or other weapon) in a third.  It also allows me to do most of the detailing on the model while the weapon is detachable to allow better access to the chest plate. It’s not as important on heresy models because their isn’t an aquila to paint but that is OCD for you.
