Sigismund, First captain of the VII legion wearing helmet. A little green stuff work then ready for paint.
Assembled and based Sons of Horus army on the paint tray ready for color. This is the entire 3000pt army based on the WIP 30k rules on TacComs forum
One of the two Jet Bike squadrons I have in the army. I decided to mount there 3 to a base, it’s a lot more expensive to build but I think it looks a lot better and will get a a lot more attention on the battle field… ;)
I used #19 5/8 in nails for the flying bases glued to some old Warmaster bases (these are perfect for bikes).
The army is all mounted up on bases and ready for paint - I’ll post a complete army shot in the next day or so.
5th detachment in my 3000pt Sons of Horus army. this detachment is an armored mechanized tactical detachment.
Only 2 units left to assemble - The Jet bikes are going to require some special care and effort to base them correctly. I also plan to put 3 bikes to a base - even though it significantly more expensive I think it looks much better on the table. The old Warmaster long bases are perfect for mounting bikes and such.
4th detachment of tactical marines for my Hersey era Epic Sons of Hourus. This unit is armed with assault weapons (but no jump packs) and transported in Spartan Assault Tanks. Ooh Rah!
I am making progress on the Sons of Horus. I e decided to put out and remake 4 if the marines which I had done up in MkV and which them out for older marks.
None of the models are glued yet, everything is held together by pinning, friction and gravity.
I did this do I could carefully pose each model and paint them without guns or other odd bits getting in the way.
Soon, very soon…
2000ish points of Sons of Horus are officially under way.
I have decided I am going to paint this army myself instead of insisting JMS. It will be a long labor of love as I am going to pin every piece of every model for strength and easy of painting and posing.
I’ve been wanting to build a traitor chapter while they were still ‘loyal’ for a long time I never thought the Sons of Horus would it the first.
I thought long and hard about wither to build a Luna Wolves army instead of SoH but ultimately I decided to use Abaddon as the army commander instead of Loken or some one else.
Ultimately I will be able to switch out the 2 commanders depending on which side of the HH scenarios I want to play even though this force already is starting to take on a daily chaotic look with the spikes and what-not.
I do also plan to get a Horus Lupercal model once Forge World releases it… I hear he is Primarch 5 **
** still disappointed that FW has released Lorgar before Mortarion… but I digress
