Here is the formula I used for my EPIC imperial Fists
Averland Sumset base, Lamenters yellow wash, touch of Seraphim Sepia, and follow up with Yriel Yellow dry brush.
It’s super fast to paint and in EPIC scale you don’t have to worry too much about being neat.
I normally use Vallejo paints, but I’m pretty pleased with the Citadel colors for the IF, thought not thrilled about the price per pot. :(
Testing Imperial Fist colors on some EPIC breachers. I went straight GW colors for these.
Unfortunately taking pictures in the middle of the night with adverse lighting condition does not allow for the look to come through well. But, I’m pleased with he result after a quick 30 min paint session. I just need to do trim, guns and tidy up the bases.
I got the rest of the squadron together and SoH doors on. They are now added to the paint queue. I think I’m going to airbrush these…
Putting together one of my EPIC Sons of Horus Storm Eagles mounted on Corsec Engineering omni stand bases. I really love these magnetic bases, they are strong, flexible and good looking.
I haven’t put the doors on the Eagle just yet but that is coming soon. I had a slight change of heart and decided to to model my EPIC SoH after my 30k/FW SoH to use more overwhelming force tactics with lots of drop pods and aircraft and landers.
I just need an EPIC legion dread claw…
A quick set of snaps of the baby breacher squad. I plan to paint these up in Imperial Fist colors. I think I need one more stand in order to use the all close combat stand to be used as a character stand.
Speaking of character stands this is one of the worst parts of the Epic Armageddon rules sets in my opinion the confusion/challenge around appending the character rules to an existing set of bases. It would be have been much easier to simply add a base to the unit representing the character and his body guard/retinue/command squad… but I digress.
* I am working on an modernized version of the Epic rules based on 40k stat lines. This maybe sacrilegious to some or even heresy (pun intended) but I’ve been working on a formula to convert 40k to Epic for a while and I’ve made some decent headway with Forge World’s Horus Heresy. I regularly use epic models to plan my 40k armies… weird I know but fun. I’m thinking I should post more of that work publicly here…
