Basic color test. I realized that the smaller the figure and more detailed the image the crappier they look. Looking at this model with naked eyes it looks ‘ok’ but wow looking at it via a vary narrow field of vision from my camera - blah.. I guess that is what happens to something that is 1cm tall.
This is good enough for making mini-war I suppose…
Playing with some toys as a form of relation after a long week. I have a set of 15mm retained knights based and ready for color - I think I’m ready to sling some paint.
I’ve been super busy lately and haven’t been able to work on any projects but while doing some video training I started basing some 15mm Retained Knights and some Heavy Knights - Desteria Demi hopefully I can finish up the bases and get these in the queue for painting.
I got some new APCs and a MBT for my Sci-Fi Japanese. These models are awesome! They come from Khurasan’s Federnal army range. In the background you can see the Hind-like Sci-Fi gunship will I will use with my Russians, of course.
Amakudari Strider from Micropanzer Wargame Studio. This is the larger 90mm version which I used for my sci-fi Japanese army.
This is one of the big reasons I live 15mm as a scale - these are so many great manufactures with great styles - I mix and match all of my favorite designs to build forces based on my imagined look.
15mm is the best balance between modeling/painting details and massive battles. Not quite as massive as my first love Epic Space Marine but very large battles nonetheless.
Russian Heavy Combat Armor from Micropanzer. I use these for my mobile armored sci-fi Spetsnaz in 15mm.
Pretty cool models.
WIP conversion kit to transform a Vietnam erra M113 into a 15mm Rhino. It’s pretty rough right now but once I get it figured out will be be casting some small pieces to convert the 8 boxes of tanks into 15mm 40k proxies.
Other models shown for scale.
My newest favorite Sci-Fi scale is 15mm. There are a few good rule sets out there such as Stargrunt II, Striker, Gruntz and Tomorrow’s War. I’ve even been writing my own “3D role-play” combat rules (a conversation for another day).
What I like most about 15mm as a scale is the closeness to model railroad HO scale, the plethora of scale model kits to bash, the price of miniatures and the vast range of miniature sculpts.
I have a ridiculous number of 15mm models; probably more than a person could paint in a life time, but I plough forward with crazy ideas and when I can.
these are some quick snaps of a few different forces I’ve been working on. The blue models are a WIP Space Marine proxies (Ultramarines)
